Generic tips for getting RobEM to run on your site RobEM is an unsupported program. We simply don't have the resources to do that. That said, here are some tips that you might find useful in getting RobEM to run at your site. 1) Create a global area that you want to use to provide access to RobEM by various users: e.g. /usr/local/myPrgs 2) Create an envirionmental variable called "EMDIR" that points to this area: % setenv EMDIR /usr/loca/myPrgs 3) Copy the RobEM executable and .uid files to this area: % cp robem /usr/local/myPrgs % cp robem.uid /usr/local/myPrgs 4) Copy the context help file here also: % cp context_help.doc /usr/local/myPrgs The copy of RobEM that we are distributing now has Makefiles in each subdirectory that are for RedHat Linux using the MetroLink MOTIF and Portland Group Fortran compilers. Here are some links for those: http://www.metrolink.com/ http://www.pgroup.com/index.htm Historically RobEM has been ported to these systems although the current state of portability to these is unknown. (We are focusing on Linux now...) VMS DEC Unix SGI Irix Troubleshooting note for KDE users: Symptom: Copious Redraws when I move a window in robem especially when boxing.
